Chris Christwell, a former Starbucks barista, got his walking papers thanks to singing, in his underwear. The video on YouTube saw the barista fired for his shirtless song which criticized those he serves daily.
So what did Chris say that his employers disliked so much? In the barista's video he did a scathing song about his customers. Christwell wore a Starbucks apron and his underwear singing:
"Hello rich white lady, I already know what you want, you want a skinny vanilla latte, young debutante. Well that drink won't make you skinny. You gotta work for that. And just in case you're wondering, I just called you fat."
Christwell called the video his attempt at satire after his grueling day job of making frappucinos and coffees for customers. Of course he targeted ethnic groups in part of his song, discussing how Latinos prefer extra caramel frappucinos. He later apologized for it all, saying it was "mildly and I apologize."
The fired barista makes the point that many people should know by now: If you want to get fired from your day or night job, get the wrong kind of attention on Facebook, Twitter or YouTube. For that matter, just log onto them during work hours, and you'll soon discover that the boss doesn't like those sites. Starbucks in particular was probably embarassed over Christwell's antics, but they are still getting spotlight from this story nonetheless.
Maybe Christwell will get a record or TV deal out of this too, although he apparently wants to be an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Imagine the songs and videos he can create out of things like bypass surgeries?
