About 23,000 Britax car seats have been recalled. There have been at least three reports of minor injury due to the recall issue with the infant car seats. The number of recalls on baby items has been astonishing lately. It is almost scary to even trust any company!
Why Britax Recalled 23,000 Car Seats
Britax and the Consumer Product Safety Commission have recalled the car seats due to faulty harness clips. The defect could cause laceration and choking hazards. Britax are Chinese-made car seats are distributed by Britax Child Safety Inc. based in North Carolina.
The injury reports include cuts and scratches as well as one child putting the broken clip in his mouth. Thankfully nothing more serious has happened.
Britax Recalled Car Seats Models
The recalled seat is the Chaperone infant car seats that were sold from June 2009 to October 2010 for a cost of $230 at retailers nationwide. The model numbers are E9L95P2 (Red Mill), E9L95P3, E9L95P5 (Cowmooflage), E9L69N9 (Moonstone). The car seats were manufactured between April 2009 and May 2010. You can locate the white serial label on the underside of the car seat.
